  • Abstract
This study has two purposes. The one is to construct comprehensive I-E-O model which incorporated the psychological perspective of student engagement, that is alternative student engagement. The other is to estimate of the effects of college impact of learning outcomes in the Japanese junior college students through comprehensive I-E-O model. To construct of comprehensive I-E-O model, I use the schema proposed by Terenzini and Reason (2005), the theory of involvement from Astin, and the study of diverse learning environment from Hurt ado. Result from Structural Equation Modeling: SEM, it becomes clear that comprehensive I-E-O model is useful to analyze the learning outcomes of student. Student Engagement and Peer-Group relation are very important to improve learning outcomes. Support from Faculty and Staff is also important, if we consider indirect effects. Since items of alternative student engagement are limited in current survey questionnaire, we need to develop more items for improvement of undergraduate education.
