Abstract :
In view of the fast growth of cities combined with the growing needs of city dwellers, the problem of efficient functioning of goods transport and distribution in urban areas is gaining more and more importance. It results in the need to search for methods and techniques that enable effective implementation of measures (solutions) aimed at streamlining and optimising urban freight transport systems. The basis of many practical implementations is the adaptive approach focused on good practices. Usually in these cases the adaptability level of the implemented measures is taking to the account. This paper is focused on the proposal of a method which expand this approach with the adaptability of the city as the environment of implementation. Proposed method makes it possible to implement good practices in the area of urban freight transport on the basis of the city adaptability level assessment by the utilization of the author´s indicator named Adaptability Index.
