Abstract
A novel approach to the design of digital IIR four-channel hypercomplex filter banks is presented, which consists of a first-order allpass sections´ cascade described with reduced biquaternions. Its multiplication rate is a factor of two lower than that of a corresponding quaternionic design. The two-step LMS design procedure is described in sufficient detail, and an illustrative design example is given
