Abstract :
The way to treat tumors in head and neck region is the main aim of this work. For this purpose we used array of waveguide applicators working on frequency 434 MHz. Characteristics of used applicator array tested through the EM field simulator SEMCAD X on numerical model and model made from CT scans. We observed SAR and temperature distribution in tumor and sensitive tissues. For better results we optimized SAR distribution and tried to focus energy to tumor. This contribution shows good control of SAR distribution patterns and offers a solution for patients with large tumors.
