Abstract
A phase-shift-controlled series-resonant inverter is used as power supply for a 10 kW, 500 kHz induction heating system. Analysis of the system for power regulation with zero voltage switching is presented, including the effect of MOSFET output capacitance. A control scheme is proposed to ensure switch turn-on with zero-voltage for all load conditions. The switching frequency is kept as close as possible to resonance to maintain near-minimal circulating energy. A prototype power supply was built and tested at 10 kW
