Abstract
Korea has prepared for major structural changes to the country´s mobile communications regime. The government recognized the CDMA technology as a national standard for the digital cellular system, and selected the second operator for running the digital cellular service, and what is more now the designation of FCS operators is under discussion. This paper introduces the CDMA based infrastructure which is being developed by ETRI jointly with domestic manufacturers in terms of the architecture, the design philosophy and the further progress
