Abstract :
Using a model of acute zymosan-induced inflammation in NMRI mice, the dependence of anti-inflammatory effects of low-intensity extremely high-frequency electromagnetic radiation (EHF EMR) on frequency and intensity was found. The maximum decrease in footpad edema and hyperthermia by 20% was revealed at frequencies of 42.2, 51.8 and 65 GHz, intensity of 0.1 mW/cm2 and exposure duration of 20 min. The pharmacological analysis has shown that arachidonic acid metabolites and histamine are involved in realization of anti-inflammatory effects of low-intensity EHF EMR.
