Abstract :
Monitoring of railway objects is relatively new. Maintenance organizations have to adapt to the use of monitoring systems. Various examples prove that condition monitoring can: reduce the number of failures and thus improve the availability and; facilitate condition based maintenance. The introduction of point monitoring in three different organizations is described. The adaption of organization to the technology and the adaption of the technology to the organization make improvement of processes and condition monitoring tools possible
