Abstract :
A program called the Fuse Analysis Program (FAP) is described which has been developed for a fuse manufacturer´s applications engineers and which uses deterministic models to compute the actual behavior of the fuse under given conditions of use. This avoids the need for correction curves and enables detailed study of an individual application quickly and easily. This tool can be used to enhance the fuse protection of power semiconductors. Some examples of its use are presented
