Abstract :
In this issue of the EMC Magazine, I am pleased to announce that over the last few months, the Education and student activities committee (esac) has started a new initiative with the Standards Development and Education Committee (SDECom). This initiative is intended to begin working to link both committees in the area of standards education, while still maintaining the main focus of each committee in their own area of responsibility. Planning for this linkage has been accomplished by the inclusion of SDECom representatives (Don Heirman and Alistair Duffy) on the monthly ESAC leadership conference calls. There have been a number of items that have been discussed on how to accomplish this joint work, and we are currently planning an ESAC/SDECom joint meeting session at the 2013 IEEE International Symposium on EMC. As a result, we are pleased to announce the following.
