Abstract :
RITA (remote ISDN test access), which was developed to support remote testing of ISDN protocols via packet-switched data networks, is discussed. The use of RITA in conjunction with Northern Telecom´s NTS (network test system) allows centralization of testing facilities and hence increases both the efficiency and the quality of the tests. From the perspective of OSI architecture, RITA allows the testing of single protocol layer by extending the adjacent lower layer over a packet data network
