Abstract :
A current regulator for the resonant inverter, which chooses the nearest available voltage vector to the predicted desired voltage vector is proposed. It is proved that the proposed regulator minimizes RMS current error. The performance of the regulator is tested by computer simulations and compared with that of a conventional pulse density modulation (PDM) regulator. The effects of the parameter and estimation error in the back EMF are considered in the computer simulation. The implementation of the regulator using a digital signal processor and its experimental results are described. The computer simulation and experimental results reveal improved responses compared with a conventional PDM regulator.<>
