Abstract :
A six-frequency acoustic backscatter device has been developed that permits the measurement of suspended sediment in the presence of air bubbles. The hardware and the inversion algorithm are described. Measurements of known sediment concentration and grain size in laboratory as well as measurements in the surf zone are presented
