Abstract :
In this paper, State of Polarization Self-Controller (SOP-SC) employing an ultra low-cost and low-consumption hardware - based on the ALTERA FLEX EPF10K10LC84 FPGA [8], two conditioning block e three 8-bits conversion blocks (one A/D e two D/A) are implemented at component level. As a dedicated FPGA feedback algorithm is activated to tolerate output (+/-5%) variation instead a maximum value, polarization tracking is obtained by only two ports of an optical controller. The electronic circuits and board construction are described and main results discussed.
