Abstract :
In this paper, HZSM-5 zeolites were modified by aluminium nitrate using the method of impregnation. And the catalytic performances of samples on alkylation of phenol with isopropanol were reviewed. Results show that: after modified with aluminium nitrate, selectivity to o-isopropylphenol was increased and p-isopropylphenol was reduced; Combined with the results of XRD, XRF, and NH3-TPD, it was observed that acid sites of HZSM-5 zeolite could be eliminated or deactivated effectively after modification with aluminium nitrate, and the intension of acid sites was reduced. Selectivity to p-isopropylphenol and o-isopropylphenol was related closely to the acid quantity of zeolite, but the effects were conversed.
