  • Abstract
In this paper, we propose to improve the localization accuracy of mobile tags in a Real-Time Location System (RTLS). Our approach consists of applying three different antennas to achieve pattern and polarization diversity. This solution minimizes several issues such as misaligned antenna polarization, non-uniform radiation pattern and multipath fading. We then demonstrate that our approach can improve the localization accuracy through a scenario in which multipath fading is originated by ground and ceiling reflection. Moreover, our study gives an insight on how the surroundings may impact the localization accuracy of an RSSI-based (Received Signal Strength Indication) RTLS.
