Abstract
This paper summarizes the design experience acquired in micropower circuits and discusses how it can be valorized in new applications where performance cannot be sacrificed to low power. It identifies the absolute trade-off limits for the digital and analog parts, and discusses existing and new strategies, architectural approaches, circuit schemes and process improvements to further approach these limits.
