Abstract
This paper describes Project Trident, an effort at IBM Research that aims to explore the interactions between the HPC, analytics, and enterprise systems. The key goals of the project are to identify common computational patterns across the three domains and to determine key system and library components that can be used to optimize performance of all the three different workloads. We first summarize key similarities and differences between different workload domain and then outline various design issues for building an unified system.
