Abstract
One success in the automated inspection field is a video camera system which has the philosophy of running rolls at high speed after being removed from the weaving machines. The use of multiple line scan cameras and multiple computers for preprocessing and postprocessing provides detailed analysis. This system does not identify the specific defect or cause, but does save a picture of a portion of the defect which can be reviewed by an operator or quality assurance technician. The system is described and the defect detection/identification algorithms discussed
