  • Abstract
    Evaluating the capability of matching algorithms for actual engineering application of scene matching navigation system can promote the research in point. A doable capability evaluation method based on database has been proposed in this paper through computer-aided simulation studies. Firstly, a systemic project programming is designed with four parts: database administering, couple images creating, matching experiments simulating and experimental data analyzing, which contained the most important key techniques in the item. With this understanding, the material course of capability evaluation is advanced in detail. Then, each necessary technique of the proposed method is introduced particularly, i.e. matching capability indices definition, image character parameters calculation, couple images creation and experimental data analysis. Finally, simulative experiments are carried out to show the advantages of the proposed approach. Results show that the method has valid ability in confirmation of theoretical studies, and drawing scientific remarks on matching algorithms adaptability. Above all, it has applied value in engineering application of scene matching technique, as well as in assistant decision-making of real-time positioning of aircraft
