Abstract :
The author describes a basic radial power distribution system as the sole power source for an industrial facility. This is the simplest scheme, and is used as a basis for exploring alternative configurations, showing increased reliability, while expanding the complexity of the design thus needed. There is a need for cooperation between the electric utility and the plant designer. Numerical examples show the basic system in order to introduce the reader to expected industry rates for failures and necessary repairs
