Abstract :
This paper presents how the non-local means (NLM) algorithm may be involved in speech signals de-noising. This algorithm can be implemented in real time using a digital signal processor (DSP) such as ADSP2181 from Analog Devices. The performance of NLM algorithm is evaluated and compared with a wavelet based de-noising algorithm. Implementation issues are discussed in order to develop a real time system.
