Abstract
This paper outlines the implementation of a wireless network optimised for the acquisition and consolidation of measurement data from widespread locations and show how it can be configured in an economic way from commercial components. The software design for the integration of the complete system is also presented. Successful operation of the prototype system has been observed but further evaluation in more demanding situations is required
