Abstract
An approach for modeling the radiation characteristics of waveguide antennas is proposed. A waveguide array consisting of semiinfinite waveguides and resonant antenna with waveguide excitation are investigated. The amplitude radiation pattern together with the front-to-rear factor is considered as the optimizing value. The optimizing problems are considered in the variational statement. The mean square deviation of the prescribed and synthesized amplitude radiation patterns, and maximum front-to-rear factor are considered as the criteria of optimization. The numerical modeling results of a waveguide array are presented.
