Abstract
The problem of fractal modeling is very simple when one has a mathematical description of a given fractal. But the inverse task of finding mathematical parameters characterizing a given fractal is much more complicated. Basing on the recent work by Goldman and the well known Chaikin\´s geometric approach using "cutting corners" paradigm for rendering quadratic curves the new method of obtaining of fractal coefficients of arbitrary 2D contours is presented. The procedure is based on the possibility of fractal modeling of quadratic and linear curves and the fact that any contour may be represented as a sum of such curves, with the help of IPAN99 algorithm. In the paper the automatic method of such fractal modeling of contours is presented together with a number of practical examples
