  • Abstract
    Giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA) is a kind of new-generation actuator. The application of GMA is limited due to the inherent hysteresis and the nonlinearity. And the response speed can not achieve a satisfied effect. To solve the problem, the mathematical model of GMA was established in the paper. According to this model, a PID controller was designed and developed. The effect of the PID control can be seen at the end with the analysis of the results. The steady output and the response speed both have been enhanced
