Abstract
Our research investigates application of cybernetic concepts to problem definition which is often considered a project´s most important and difficult phase. The addition of cybernetic principles can make existing problem definition methods even more powerful. This is explained and demonstrated by enhancing Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) with several cybernetic concepts, and applying the resulting methods to a case study.
