Abstract :
Data fusion and data mining are complementary processes that contribute abductive-inductive (learning and discovery) and deductive (detection) capabilities. Not to be confused with each other, the processes offer distinct and reciprocal capabilities that, once integrated, provide powerful tools for improving the automatic recognition of targets by complex, nonliteral signatures from multiple sources. ERIM International is developing and applying this integrated technology to improve the performance of traditional data fusion processes
