Abstract
Tetrabutyl titanate and lead acetate are used as the precursors to prepare ultrafine lead titanate (PbTiO3) powders through the sol-gel process. It is shown that powders with high purity concentration (99.67 wt.%), small particle size (average particle size 0.1 μm), and narrow size distribution can be obtained. The sol-gel-derived gel was highly crystallized after heat treatment at 400°C for 2 h. It is also found that Pb(CH3CO2)2 can be effectively dehydrated at 190°C
