Abstract :
A distributed diagnosis algorithm for homogeneous systems is presented. It uses local comparison among units in a system. Fault diagnosis is done by finding groups of units which behave in the same way. Faults in diagnostic circuits, which have been typically assumed to be fault free, are also covered by the diagnosis algorithm. The algorithm compares favorably with other existing algorithms. In the case in which two nonadjacent units are to be compared bye exchanging data through a faulty intermediate unit, the possibility of data corruption is also taken into account
