Abstract :
A multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLC) with a firing temperature lower than 900°C which meets the IEC temperature characteristic code 2E4 is described. The composition of the materials is based on the system Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-Pb(Zn1/3 Nb2/3)O3PbTiO3. A two-step calcination process was developed to restrain the formation of the pyrochlore phase during the synthesis of lead manganese niobate (PMN) ceramic powder. The dielectric properties of the MLC material were determined. The binder CK-90 and the electrode materials YS-4 and YC-4 were also studied. As a result, a compatible system of three relative materials, i.e., PMN ceramic powder, CK-90 binder, and YS-4 and YC-4 electrode materials, and a related technological process, were obtained
