Abstract
Canada introduced its domestic UWB rules in March 2009. Issue-1 of Radio Standards Specifications RSS-220 established provisions for the introduction and use of short-range UWB devices on a licence-exempt no-interference no-protection basis. This speech presents the Canadian UWB rules, and outlines similarities and differences with those of other countries (e.g.; US, Europe) and ITU-R recommendations.
