Abstract :
A method of obtaining high efficiency in high frequency power converters of low voltage output is presented, where a MOSFET synchronous rectifier is combined with a saturable transformer for commutation. By this method, switching losses and switching surges due to the parasitic capacitance and the parasitic diode of MOSFET are reduced. The results of experiments on a power converter of 3 V output at f = 500 kHz show that the efficiency is greatly improved with this method
