Abstract
This paper proposes a wireless local area data communication system, which is integrated to digital cordless telephone systems: data signal is transmitted through digital cordless telephone channels, even if they are occupied by voice signals: the silence periods of voice communication are used for data transmission. A method is proposed to prevent voice communication from being interfered by the data transmission. A packet reservation technique is introduced to enhance the data transmission performance. Computer simulation results show the feasibility of the integrated voice and data wireless local area network
