Abstract
The subject of III-Vsemiconductor electro-optics is introduced and the technology discussed. GaAs/AlGaAs travelling-wave modulators which use a loaded transmission-line to achieve velocity-matching are demonstrated to have achieved efficient modulation out to nearly 60GHz.
