Abstract
Finite Difference-Time Domain (FDTD) simulations and analytical solutions are used to determine the surface waves generated on a tapered field emission tip by a current source corresponding to photomixing in resonant laser-assisted field emission. Modeling the tip as a paraboloid of revolution enables obtaining the analytical solution in terms of Coulomb wave functions.
