Abstract
This manuscript proposes the effectiveness of active power line conditioning (APLC) system to deliver short circuit current whenever a shunt fault occurs at the load side. One may note that if the APLC system is able to deliver short circuit current then unnecessary interruption of main power supply could be eliminated. The developed APLC system is able to achieve balanced sinusoidal source currents in phase with respective source voltages even under short circuit conditions. The method assumes that under short circuit conditions, the ac power supply is allowed to carry rated current. The APLC system implemented in this manuscript uses a separate dc power supply rather than the dc capacitor.
