The Features of Electron Density Variations in Ionospheric D-Region Near Kharkiv During the Magnetic Storm in December, 2006

The changes of the electron density in the middle latitude ionospheric D-region during the magnetic storm in December, 2006 have been investigated using partial reflection technique. Quasi-periodic (with periods of Tges30-60 minutes) 50-100% increase of electron density during tens of minutes was found. The estimations of ionization rate change have been carried out. Corresponding fluxes have been estimated on the basis of experimental data of electron density changes over the electron and proton precipitation periods. They were p ~10⁸ m^-2sec^-1.
