Abstract :
A novel design of a differentially-fed ultrawideband (UWB) polarization diversity antenna with dual band-notched characteristics is presented in this paper. The antenna consists of a chamfer square slot and two orthogonal differential pairs to achieve polarization diversity operation over the UWB. The proposed antenna has a wide impedance bandwidth from 2.75 to more than 11 GHz for differential reflection coefficients less than -10 dB. High differential isolation larger than 40 dB and low cross-polarization are also obtained. Besides, by employing two different methods, dual band-rejected operation filtering the 3.5 GHz WiMAX and 5.5 GHz WLAN band is realized. All these features make the proposed antenna very suitable for the application in UWB wireless communication systems.
