Abstract
PPSP is the protocol standardized by IETF and is used for content distribution in a wide area without the presence of any central server. However, even though user could access live streaming contents by using PPSP, it doesn´t work efficiently. An example is when user reside in a same home network but request same content using PPSP. Correspondent peers would cause network traffic redundancy since the same data packet is transmitted for multiple times. To solve this problem, we propose an extended DLNA network architecture and suggest two protocol architectures: one is DLNA with home gateway model and the other is an extended DMR model. We analyze the performance between two proposed protocol in terms of service setup delay and service relay delay.
