Abstract
An analysis of impact igniters is developed following the classical electromechanical analogies. From a comparison of the model with the experimental characterization of the converter, unusually high values of SE33, d33, ∈T 33 coefficients are shown. Furthermore, a significant increase of the loss tangent occurs under dynamic compression. The influence of applied uniaxial stress, the size of the piezoceramics, and their composition are studied
