Abstract :
On-body communications channels will become increasingly important in future wearable computing systems. To avoid the need for cables between the various parts of such distributed systems, wireless communications will be used. Efficient use of these on-body channels requires characterization and understanding of the propagation environment. This paper presents initial results and shows that significant channel loss variations can occur that are related to physiological body effects.
