Abstract
The importance of knowledge management (KM) is increasingly recognized in education since it deals with information and knowledge resources. The challenge for educational organizations is to develop effective strategies for managing the knowledge resources and providing appropriate access to this information. This article examines the key components of KM that may have a potential impact on success of the KM practices in educational context. The purpose of this investigation is to support the learning activity in the software engineering program within a university. Results indicated that both academic staff and students were aware of the importance of these components and the role they play in successfully managing knowledge in the program; however the actual implementation of such criteria was inadequate and needed improvement.
