Abstract :
Summary form only given. Radio over fibre (RoF) system and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) have attracted much interest for increasing the capacity and coverage area for future broadband wireless millimetre waves (mm-waves) at 60GHz. Fast OFDM (F-OFDM), another promising multicarrier scheme, reduces the subcarrier spacing to half of symbol rate per subcarrier. When compared to the conventional OFDM, this format exhibits greatly improved performance in frequency offset compensation in coherent detection, and better tolerance to phase noise in self-coherent detection. In this paper, we investigate for the first time the distribution of F-OFDM signal over RoF systems at 60GHz based on direct laser modulation and optical frequency quadruple technique.
