Abstract
A fast reprojection algorithm based on run-length coding of the image is presented. In run-length coding each run represents the number of adjacent pixels with identical gray level. The present algorithm reprojects one run, rather than one pixel, at a time. It is particularly suitable for applications where the image contains large areas of constant values (e.g. water or air), or where the number of image quantization levels can be reduced in favor of reprojection speed
