Title :
High power density switched reluctance motor drive for aerospace applications

Abstract :
An advanced-development, variable-speed, 120 hp motor drive system for an electric-motor-driven, large aircraft engine fuel pump application is described. The system is designed to demonstrate advanced technologies that allow the design of motor drive systems with the necessary power densities, reliability, and environmental specifications for aerospace applications. The drive runs from 270 VDC, the emerging power standard for future aircraft power. The intended load of the drive is a centrifugal pump, although all system testing is done on a dynamometer test stand.<>
