Abstract :
Field-oriented motor control fits in a wide class of induction motor control methods. Alternatives include feedback linearization and observer-based nonlinear control. Comparisons are made among various vector controls, and also some advanced scalar controls. It is shown that demanding performance requirements such as rapid periodic speed variations can be realized with advanced methods. New scalar methods offer possible alternatives for less demanding drives
