Abstract :
This paper describes an implementation of a cochlear implant speech signal processing platform by using a windows mobile phone. This platform implemented the speech signal acquisition, speech signal processing, liquid crustal displaying, controlling and data transmission functions. And it accomplished a series of signal processing functions including pre-processing, pre-emphasis, sub-band extraction, envelope extraction and compression. In this paper, we report on the real-time implementation of the continuous interleaved sampling algorithm on the mobile phone processor platform, which has similar results to the commercially available implant processors and this new processor has the capability of communicating with up-host computers through Bluetooth accurately in real-time. This speech signal processing platform provided a low cost, multifunction real-time and efficient solution for cochlear implant speech signal processing, which has highly practical value with spreading meaning.
