A Web-based discussion learning system focusing on teacher-parent feedback

Web-based discussion study provides opportunities for various types of interaction between learners and the teacher and among learners. Despite the high educational usability of Web-based discussion study, it is not easy to induce active participation, discussion and interaction because there is no way to force students´ participation and control their discussion activities. For proper discussion study, the teacher and learners must participate in discussion actively and positively, and for this the teacher needs to establish a teaching strategy for stimulating learners´ active participation in discussion. In addition, parents should check their children´s participation in discussion study. This study designed and implemented a Web-based discussion study system that provides various forms of discussion spaces and promotes student´s active participation and interaction through observing their discussion activities. In this system, teachers or parents can observe students´ participation in discussion and provide feedback.
