Abstract :
Frequency selective surfaces (FSS) consisting of periodic arrays of conducting patches deposited on dielectric layers, excited by incident plane waves, are used in the development of several microwave and millimeter-wave devices. The scattering parameters of FSS structures consisting of periodic arrays of thin dipoles and crossed dipoles on a dielectric anisotropic layer are investigated in the spectral domain. Numerical results are obtained as a function of the structural parameters for oblique incidence. It is observed that the use of anisotropic substrates increases the design flexibility of FSS structures on a dielectric layer. The analyzed structure can be used in the development of wideband microwave devices, such as microwave filters.
